Helena volunteers cleared over 1,000 fallen trees on Willard Creek Trail in the Elkhorn Mountains after a December windstorm blocked access and raised wildfire concerns (the Helena Ultra Runners League organized the cleanup to restore recreation and boost emergency access).

Future linemen in Helena are receiving 7,000 hours of classroom and field training at a local facility that prioritizes safety and teamwork.
The apprenticeship program (moved to this location in 2019) covers a five-state region and prepares workers for high-demand careers.
