- ➤ The Great Divide Ski Area chairlift is closed for repairs as maintenance crews work to fix its auxiliary drive+found during routine morning checks near Helena. The lift will stay out of service until the problem is resolved+updates are expected. MontanaRightNow
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Over 10,000 visitors came to the Montana Heritage Center in December, marking its first month as a hub for local history. Museum officials say this milestone reflects growing community interest in preserving heritage. Independent Record

- ➤ Helena will host a public meeting on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 5:30 p.m. at the City-County Building (Room 426) or via Zoom to discuss 2026 open lands projects such as Deford Trail upgrades, Oakes Street Park Trail relocation, and North Benton Trail improvements; public comments are accepted until Feb. 2. - ➤ Construction is underway at 930 Custer Ave— a new fleet vehicle services building is being built to outfit FWP vehicles and is expected to finish this summer. The $15 million project may add office spaces and will continue into 2028. KTVH
