- ➤ In 2025, Lewis and Clark Humane Society set record numbers by reuniting over 2,100 animals and fostering more than 1,300 animals+ staff restructured its adoption team and received 4,000 volunteer hours to support care. The group managed three large-scale animal seizures while continuing its mission. KTVH
- ➤ A Helena resident created TrainTracker, a free website that provides real-time updates for all 10 train crossings in town and can be added to phones + helps commuters avoid long delays. Between 200 and 300 people use the tracker daily to plan alternate routes. KXLH

- ➤ Yesterday, Helena community leaders observed International Holocaust Remembrance Day by honoring victims and urging education on antisemitism plus promoting dialogue. Rebecca Stanfel of the Montana Jewish Project said preserving memory calls for ongoing learning about history. KTVH
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Helena Public Schools approved new district boundaries for students not yet enrolled in kindergarten or a local school. The changes revise attendance areas in Treasure State and other neighborhoods and will take effect next school year. KTVH

- ➤ The Montana Department of Livestock confirmed a case of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza in a backyard flock in Carbon County on January 21. Poultry owners were advised to house birds indoors and boost biosecurity to help curb the virus. MontanaRightNow
