- ➤ Helena teacher Kellen Alger, who has taught for nearly 20 years including eight at Jefferson Elementary, will be honored on Feb. 13 in Washington D.C. He received the National Education Association Foundation Travelers Award for his innovative methods & commitment to engaging his students. KXLH
- ➤ Two Montana-based construction firms, including one from Helena, were unanimously approved by the school board Friday to lead the bond-backed construction of the new Kessler Elementary School — the project will soon move forward. Independent Record

- ➤ County officials are reviewing future options for the shuttered Margaret Stuart Youth Home on Miller Street in Helena after funding issues led to its closure. They will announce new plans soon. Independent Record
- ➤ An infrastructure project in south Helena near Rodney trails is replacing 130-year-old pipes with a $14 million upgrade funded by a $15 million Covid relief grant — the work began in early fall 2025 and will ensure reliable water for thousands until June 30, 2026. KXLH
- ➤ Helena Regional Airport is planning to expand its flight options in 2026 by increasing outbound seats from 125,000 to over 136,000; airport officials also hope to add routes like Minneapolis — a targeted hub — to improve fares for passengers. KXLH
