- ➤ Buckle and Bath and Body Works submitted plans to open in the space at Skyway Regional Shopping Center, aiming to start construction on Feb. 9 and open late-June if on schedule (construction is delayed); Furniture Design Center will remain until moving to a Prospect Avenue site after its lease ends. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ High school students lit up the 33rd Annual Night to Shine with 22 acts, including dances, songs, and piano solos + showcasing remarkable local talent in Helena. Independent Record
- ➤ Approximately 50 Carroll College students gathered to receive ashes during an Ash Wednesday mass in All Saints Chapel on campus. The event marked the start of Lent. Independent Record
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Dec. 17, 2025, strong winds caused damage in Helena, downing trees (41 in parks and over 1,000 in open areas) and damaging the band dome and golf course. Cleanup costs were from $25,000 to $30,000 and tree inspections will continue to guide urban forestry improvements. KTVH
- ➤ Gov. Gianforte praised Montana’s fire season response in 2025, noting teams kept 94% of wildfires to 10 acres or less to help save about $37 billion in property + decades of forest management investment boosted readiness. KTVH
