- ➤ Plans to bring a Chick-fil-A restaurant to Helena have been approved by city officials on North Washington Street in the Skyway Regional Shopping Center. It is scheduled to open in early 2027 when developers select a contractor to generate permit fees. KXLH
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Carroll College awarded over $236,000 in scholarships to 15 students for the upcoming school year. The college supports future doctors, nurses, engineers, scientists and mathematicians and has given more than $3.2 million in awards over the years. MontanaRightNow
- ➤ Helena and Capital High students showed off their bridge-making skills on Friday at Helena High School during the fifth-annual contest—each bridge was later crushed to test its design. Independent Record
- ➤ New federal law changes student loan repayment for borrowers including Carroll College students by offering two plans—a standard one with fixed payments over 10 — 25 years and an income—based plan with forgiveness. Options take effect on July 1, with current loans unchanged for two years until June 30. KTVH

- ➤ County commissioners approved a $276K contract to plan a new Scratch Gravel trash transfer site + the project aims to ease the burden on the current transfer station and is expected to be completed by June 2028. Independent Record

- ➤ Helena-area wrestlers rewrote their record books at the state tournament in Billings last weekend—Taylor Lay became the first three-time state champion for her school while Eli Erdahl secured a historic title for East Helena. KXLH
- ➤ Helena’s Last Chance Curling Club offers beginner curling lessons at Steed Arena so newcomers can learn the sport and meet neighbors. The league runs Thursdays from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. for five weeks, with additional leagues for first timers and experienced curlers starting in March. KTVH
