- ➤ Local summer camp registrations are open as families plan their summer activities. The Helena Family YMCA began registration on Mar. 21 for Camp Child near Elliston and Painted Pot offers camps limited to 12 kids to ensure hands-on learning—both camps are expected to fill quickly. KXLH
- ➤ The Helena Area Refugee Resettlement Team housed two Afghan refugee families with help from national nonprofit No One Left Behind+ despite a funding loss. The team has launched a GoFundMe campaign+ to support the families. Independent Record

- ➤ The Forest Service is planning prescribed fires in the Helena area this week—fires will continue through Friday if weather conditions allow. Independent Record

- ➤ New blue posts have been installed along the interstate to guide emergency vehicles to an Authorized Vehicle Only crossover 500 feet ahead. Rep. Scott DeMarios, using his firefighting experience, proposed the change as the Montana Department of Transportation has already put up 2,500 posts — a fix aimed at improving response times. KTVH
- ➤ Helena will host the 14th annual Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony at the state Capitol complex on March 29 to honor Vietnam veterans. Independent Record
- ➤ Florida Governor Ron DeSantis visited the Helena Capitol Building to discuss a balanced budget amendment with Montana Governor Greg Gianforte. - ➤ St. Peter's Health celebrated the opening of its new breast milk collection site when healthcare professionals, mothers, and donors gathered, and first donor Kendra Hull (who had a close call during her pregnancy) made her donation. The site partners with Northwest Mothers Milk Bank (replacing Mothers Milk Bank of Montana) to test, pasteurize, and supply milk for babies in need while requiring strict health checks and OB doctor sign-off from donors. - ➤ The Helena Bighorns will play their first pool play game tomorrow in St. Louis as they defend their 2024 Fraser Cup title while Steed Ice Arena stays empty and local fans boost support through calls and social media.
