Helena Public Schools owe nearly $154,000 in lunch debt, so the ScareLadies turn thrifted clothes into scarecrows to raise funds for meals.

Working from a member’s garage, the group will sell the scarecrows at community events and aims to raise $5,000 by year’s end — helping seniors graduate on time.
