- ➤ Students across Helena spent Thursday painting and building floats for the Vigilante Day Parade—marking its 101st anniversary—as they prepared for the event today on Last Chance Gulch. High school teams chose themes from Montana history to local athletic programs while teachers checked on their progress throughout the day. KXLH
- ➤ Montanans who work in child welfare and family services were honored at a conference in Helena on Thursday organized by the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. Twelve awards were given to 22 people and two organizations, and foster parents Kelsey and Andrew Richards were recognized for their contributions to foster care. KTVH

- ➤ Today, the former East Helena ASARCO site is reopened as Prickly Pear Park, a restored public space with trails, mountain views and about 1.5 miles of trout fishing—dogs are not allowed to protect nesting aquatic birds.
