- ➤ Urban Prairies opened its doors on May 1 at 242 Mill Road in the Helena valley; the nursery offers native, drought-tolerant plants along with trees, shrubs, and seeds. Owner Mae Clark (with 20 years of gardening experience) said new shipments will arrive before Mother’s Day weekend. KXLH

- ➤ On Tuesday, May 5, voters in Helena and East Helena cast ballots on levies for school funding. Helena voters rejected three measures totaling about $3 million for operations and technology while East Helena voters turned down a $392,000 proposal to restore staffing—final counts remain unofficial.
