- ➤ Urban Prairies opened its doors on May 1 at 242 Mill Road in the Helena valley; the nursery offers native, drought-tolerant plants along with trees, shrubs, and seeds. Owner Mae Clark (with 20 years of gardening experience) said new shipments will arrive before Mother’s Day weekend. KXLH

Helena voters rejected three measures totaling about $3 million for operations and technology while East Helena voters turned down a $392,000 proposal to restore staffing—final counts remain unofficial.
