- ➤ The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reported that motorcyclists accounted for 15% of traffic fatalities in 2023 and that more riders will be on Helena roads as the weather improves. Tom Cox, owner of Poet Motorcycles, advises new riders to take a DOT-supported safety course at Helena College and to use DOT-compliant helmets + practice defensive driving. KTVH

- ➤ ExplorationWorks opened its Extreme Sports exhibit on Saturday, which lets visitors try virtual reality simulations and physical challenges like slacklining and balance games at 995 Carousel Way. The interactive display runs through the summer — giving both kids and adults a chance to try new activities. KXLH
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ At the former ASARCO site in East Helena, the EPA has approved a plan to grade and cap a 16 million ton slag pile to protect local groundwater if a new international buyer is not found. Montana Environmental Trust Group is seeking buyers — potential markets include Asia, Europe and Mexico. KTVH
