Helena Police Officer John Strandberg delivered a baby girl and earned the department’s first Stork Award in 18 years — a rare recognition after another birth assistance in his career.

Helena College’s EMT department is receiving a donated retired ambulance from St. Peter’s Health to give 18 students real-life training through ride-alongs & emergency department rotations, strengthening hands-on skills for future EMS work.

The Missouri River Treatment plant began operating on Monday to supplement Helena’s water supply during summer irrigation, and some residents observed slight discoloration and odor in their taps.
