- ➤ Last Chance Splash Waterpark and Pool lifeguards practice CPR, First Aid, and in-water training as they get ready to open on Monday. The city pays for the training and the lifeguards will practice every Friday until the pool closes on August 16th—helping keep swimmers safe during busy hours from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. KXLH

- ➤ Two Helena restaurants are keeping prices steady as tariffs, bird flu, and delivery challenges push up costs, with Nosh Cafe owner Claire Vert and Ten Mile Creek Brewery owner Riley Tubbs urging customers to be patient. They plan to source local food to help offset rising expenses and maintain affordable menus. KXLH

- ➤ Helena local Faith Johnson (2023 Miss Montana) will sign copies of her new children's book 'Glitter and Grit' at Fire Tower Coffee House today from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. KTVH
- ➤ The Montana Historical Society is asking Helena residents for help to complete the Heritage Center by seeking the final $1 million in its $60 million capital campaign, with donations welcomed through July 30. The project will add 66,000 square feet of new space and remodel the existing 95,000-square-foot building to include a museum, exhibit hall, gift shop, education center — and café. KTVH

- ➤ Helena Public Schools closed Hawthorne Elementary on June 10 & approved bond language while planning to present two bond measures to voters on Sept 9; one is a 30 year high school district bond of $280 million and the other a 20 year elementary district bond of $43 million to repair aging schools and failing systems. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ At the Montana Law Enforcement Academy, a six-day SWAT training course taught officers from across Montana to handle high-stress calls and make quick decisions when facing dangerous situations. Many officers chose the training to boost their skills for handling incidents—like hostage rescues and high-risk warrants—that could put lives at risk. KTVH
- ➤ The Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office partnered with the FBI and U.S. Forest Service for a backcountry homicide training exercise — officers simulated crime scenes in the Scapegoat Wilderness Area and learned to use horses and mules for travel. KTVH
