- ➤ Helena police and Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office responded to an incident on June 15 in the 1400 block of Missoula — where an adult man was arrested on two counts of assault with a weapon. MontanaRightNow
- ➤ Helena man Tyler Miguel Smith-Hernandez was charged Monday with two felony counts of assault with a weapon (he allegedly threatened two people with a firearm on June 14 at an apartment). Independent Record

- ➤ Comedian Brad Williams will perform Friday, June 20 at 7 p.m. at the Helena Civic Center—promising to make the crowd feel every emotion as he jokes about the challenges of life as a dwarf. Independent Record
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters fought on Monday through ground and air to contain the Jericho Mountain Fire that burned 150 acres near MacDonald Pass while keeping it away from structures. Officials closed part of the Continental Divide Trail for safety—fire management will be taken over by a Type III team today—ensuring protection for hikers. KTVH

- ➤ Gov. Gianforte appointed Rep. Marta Bertoglio — a Clancy lawmaker and Air Force veteran — as the new director of the Montana Department of Commerce. She resigned from the Legislature on Monday and will replace former director Paul Green as part of Gianforte’s cabinet. KTVH

- ➤ Helena’s Shodair Children’s Hospital received a $10,000 donation from the Caring Foundation of Montana on June 14 during the Governor’s Cup to upgrade classroom technology, purchase new curriculum, and plan summer activities for children.
