Mount Helena trails reopened this afternoon after a fast-moving wildfire forced a temporary closure; DNRC crews kept the blaze under 1 acre and are investigating the cause & reminding locals that fireworks remain prohibited on state and local lands.

Helena residents now have access to National Forests and Grasslands, a new free app launched by the U.S. Forest Service that covers 165,000 miles of trails and 30,000 recreation sites (including 750 miles in the Helena Ranger District).

The app offers offline maps, trail details, and safety alerts.
