- ➤ The Angel Fund, a Helena non-profit supporting local students, has launched its 19th annual Stuff the Bus fundraiser and is asking for monetary donations instead of school supplies. The campaign will run through August 1st—schools will receive grants the week of August 4th to help 1,400 students purchase needed supplies. KTVH
- ➤ Fireworks stands in Lewis & Clark County opened Tuesday and will operate until July 5 with operators expecting high sales on the Fourth. Officials advise buyers to use fireworks only on private property outside Helena — keeping water on hand and following local safety guidelines. KXLH

- ➤ A four-person crew at Hauser Dam for Northwestern Energy was honored Tuesday with OSHA's highest safety designation for over 10 years of workplace safety and health commitment. The award highlights a consistent focus on protecting workers and ensuring safe operations. Independent Record
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Jericho Mountain Fire near Macdonald Pass grew to about 369 acres with no containment as crews built containment lines and used heavy equipment while an evacuation warning stayed for those along Rimini Road and feeder roads south of Bear Gulch Road. A community meeting was held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Rimini Fire Station on 3290 Rimini Road to update residents on fire conditions, weather risks, and safety measures — officials warned that warmer weather may increase fire activity later this week. - ➤ Helena posted a draft of its Land Use Plan—Helena Forward—for public comment as it sets goals for growth and development over the next 20 years. The draft is available online for review and feedback during the summer, and a public open house will be held before it goes to the Planning Commission. MontanaRightNow
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Montana Health and Safety Training held an outdoor first aid class for kids aged nine to 14 in Helena where they learned to treat animal bites, sprains, and perform CPR and wound dressing (as well as use an EpiPen) while receiving survival tips and assembling their own first aid kit (to help in emergencies). Helena's Spring Art Walk: Visit 100+ artists in-person, on display at more than 40 business hosts from 4 - 8pm.
