Volunteers have been working since Monday to prepare for the annual East Helena Rodeo — an event held today that is expected to draw about 2,500—3,000 local spectators.
The volunteer-run rodeo, organized by the East Helena Valley Rodeo Association since 1963, relies on ticket sales and donations to fund future shows.
🎭 Culture
Dozens of riders competed on Thursday afternoon at East Helena's In-County Rodeo, featuring goat-tying, team roping, penning and bucking events.
The rodeo kicked off a weekend of local tradition.
🏈 Sports
Local breakaway roper Hailey Burger competed in the East Helena Rodeo this week in front of a hometown crowd & received strong support from her family.
She hopes her success inspires more young girls to try breakaway roping, celebrating a sport that brings the community together.
