🏘️ Community
Helena-based Mid Valley Farm owners Jorae and John Miedtke will open a new farmstand in early August (adding extra access to produce beyond the Helena Farmers Market) to let locals taste fresh food and learn where it comes from.
🎭 Culture
The Museum of Forest Service History recently opened its $18.5M National Conservation Legacy Center off I-90 between Glacier and Yellowstone.
Board president Andy Mason said the center is designed to attract national visitors to the region.
🏥 Health
Local health officials advise residents that despite the FDA investigating a cyclospora outbreak linked to shredded lettuce in the Northeast, there are no recalls in Helena and safe food handling remains a priority.
The microscopic parasite can cause watery diarrhea plus other symptoms, so residents are urged to wash produce thoroughly.
