Firefighters are battling a wildfire near Crow Peak on US Forest Service land in the Elkhorn Mountains as smoke raises concerns over air quality; the Montana Department of Environmental Quality warns that particulates may affect sensitive groups until 9AM today.

The U.S. Department of Energy issued an emergency order on Sunday authorizing backup generators in Montana and 16 other states — a move meant to prevent outages as extreme heat increases power demand.
Yellowstone Valley Electric said large industrial users could see power cuts first.
