COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Last week’s Last Chance Stampede and Fair drew huge crowds that caused heavy traffic on Custer—Helena Police and county sheriffs plan to meet later this week with fair organizers to review solutions like adding extra stop signs and temporary stoplights. Organizers are offering refunds to attendees who experienced long delays.  KTVH

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Montana teens from across the state attended a weeklong camp where they learned how to handle mental health crises with Teen Mental Health First Aid Certification training from Simulation in Motion+Montana on Tuesday. The training taught them to recognize overdose signs, administer Narcan, and start conversations to support friends in need.  KXLH

HEALTH NEWS

  • Montana teens attended a weeklong camp to learn mental health first aid, which taught them how to recognize overdose signs and use Narcan — the Head's Up program offered these sessions through the South-Central Area Health Education Center.  KTVH
  • The Lewis and Clark County Public Health Department issued a safety alert after several bat encounters were reported and one bat was confirmed to have rabies. The department warns residents not to touch bats and to call animal control if a bat is found on the ground or inside a home — and to seek medical care if bitten or scratched.  MontanaRightNow

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Habitat for Humanity dedicated six new homes on Tuesday in East Helena and gifted hammers as a symbol of nearly 10,000 hours of work—new homeowners, including a widow and a single dad who overcame hardship, celebrated building their own homes. The organization will soon turn empty farmland into 1,500 homes and start the Rose Hills project in late 2026—plans aimed at meeting the rising demand for housing in the community.  KXLH
