CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Four Montana men were charged with 33 counts for poaching trophy bull elk, mule deer, white-tail deer and a black bear from October 2022 to November 2023 — Maxwell Lawton Krupp and Dylan Charles Boyer from Bozeman and brothers Cameron Ray Wyant and Christian Gerald Wyant from Helena faced penalties including fines over $20,000. Court documents detailed that investigations using cellphone data and social media images linked them to illegal hunts, and their court dates were set in late 2023 and early 2024. Independent Record
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Helena Public Schools posted photos of leaking roofs, a messy bathroom and mice caught in a glue trap on Facebook to show the need for a new Helena High School, while the Helena High School Bond 2025 on the September 9th ballot will provide $240 million for demolishing and replacing the old campus and parts of Capital High School—additional funds from property taxes will vary based on home value, and a separate $43 million bond is planned for a new elementary school. - ➤ The Montana Highway Patrol began installing body cameras in vehicles to improve safety for troopers and civilians and will complete the system setup in October—this technology upgrade was funded by a 2023 legislature grant of $4,000,000. KTVH
