- ➤ Montana Ride to Remember will begin Saturday in Helena as a motorcycle procession honoring military service members missing in action and prisoners of war — the Montana POW/MIA Awareness Association plans the ride from Helena to West Yellowstone. Independent Record

- ➤ Carroll College named Dr. Jennifer Glowienka and Bishop Austin Vetter as interim co-presidents for the 2025–2026 academic year after Dr. Ruud stepped down — the college will begin a search for a permanent president in the fall and work to boost enrollment and engage community partners as classes start next week. - ➤ Carroll College picked two new interim co-presidents as classes begin in one week—Dr. Jennifer Glowienka and Bishop Austin Vetter took over after Dr. William Ruud stepped down, and the board will start a search for a permanent president later in the fall. KTVH
- ➤ Lewis and Clark Library was awarded $20,000 Tuesday from the National Endowment for the Arts — part of The Big Read initiative. Independent Record
- ➤ Helena and East Helena school boards approved their budgets for the next academic year on Aug. 11 and 12—Helena’s budget was nearly $111.8 million and East Helena’s was about $20.5 million. Both districts will start classes on Aug. 27—East Helena adjusted its transportation and tuition funds and Helena now plans a state bond vote for needed school renovations. Independent Record

- ➤ The Montana Office of Public Instruction launched a feedback portal to collect comments on American Indian studies in Helena public schools—comments that will be shared with tribal nations—to help update classroom lessons in line with the state constitution requirement from 1972. - ➤ The Canyon Creek Rural Fire Department installed a new Starlink system on its command vehicle on Monday to improve communication across 66,000 acres, and Fire Chief Jonathan Cunningham said the upgrade — costing $566 with a $50 monthly fee — will boost firefighter safety and help request aid faster.
