Huttinger Ranch and Horse Rescue in East Helena gives neglected horses a second chance after owner Bobbi Jo Dunwald rescued Elvis from a meat truck for ($150).
The rescue now cares for five horses and works with volunteers three times a week while planning to expand support for more animals.
On Fri, Aug. 14, a Montana veteran with disabled veteran plates was confronted while parking at a gun show at Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds — he said Montana law allows his use of the spot.
He hopes his experience encourages respect for disabled veterans.

NorthWestern Energy announced Friday that about 5 miles of a 40-year-old natural gas pipeline near Helena will be replaced by October to boost reliability + safety.
The project aims to update aging infrastructure and enhance local service quality.
🏛️ Government
The FWP will start a weekly lottery for hunting at Missouri Headwaters State Park starting Wednesday, Aug.
26, allowing six hunters per day amid rising park use. Hunters must submit requests each Wednesday until Jan. 6, and selected hunters receive a map (showing 200-ft buffers around campsites, parking and trails).
