  • At Wednesday’s administrative meeting, city staff proposed raising downtown hourly parking rates from $1 to $1.25—an early suggestion to fund parking maintenance and adjust permit fees. Local business owners and residents said higher parking costs could discourage shoppers and make it harder for workers to park.  KXLH
  • Helena city staff proposed raising downtown parking rates at Wednesday's meeting by possibly increasing hourly fees from $1 to $1.25, along with higher permit charges and violation fines up to $30 to fund parking maintenance. Local business owners voiced concerns about the impact on workers and customers, and officials said they will seek feedback from downtown businesses before making any final decisions.  KTVH

  • This month, Helena marks ovarian cancer awareness month as survivors urge women to know signs like bloating, pelvic pain, heartburn, and frequent urination—early detection may lead to quicker treatment. Survivor Sue Von Eschen said she was lucky to be diagnosed early after mistaking her pain for a bladder infection.  KTVH

  • Carroll College is set to host its home opener tonight against No. 11 Montana Tech as head coach Troy Purcell praised quarterback Kaden Huot for showing strong leadership on a challenging opening play.
