EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Helena College now offers a free Creative Lab and DIY Library for students to borrow tools such as sewing machines, 3D printers, and button-making machines—resources developed after director Kris Goss used a tow rope to help a stranded driver—and college staff say the service will help students build practical skills and save money. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana Department of Transportation crews in Helena remove roadkill such as deer and raccoon early in the day to keep roads safe—working with the Lewis and Clark County landfill for proper disposal. Citizens are asked to move animals off the road and report incidents using the free Report a Problem app. KTVH
- ➤ Helena-area voters have one day left to drop off ballots for city and school elections today from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Lewis and Clark County Elections Office—nearly 17,000 ballots have been received so far—and voters are choosing candidates for mayor and city commission while deciding on a school bond measure for major renovations. - ➤ MontanaPBS is set to expand its eastern coverage by purchasing former commercial stations in Glendive, Miles City, and Sidney—its goal is to bring free public TV to more communities by Christmas. Director Aaron Pruitt said the deal will almost be finalized this month and comes after federal cuts removed 20% of its budget. Independent Record

- ➤ No. 11 Montana Tech beat Carroll College on Saturday night at Nelson Stadium — winning 30-19 in the home opener. Graduate running back Wykece Johnson scored three touchdowns and led Tech’s 313-yard offense as the team improved its record to 2-0 while Carroll dropped to 1-1. KTVH
