- ➤ A family-owned Everest restaurant will open in Helena offering Indian—Nepali cuisine. The eatery will bring traditional flavors to the local dining scene with plans to serve residents soon. Independent Record
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Butte actor Rob Cox recalled his magical summer filming A River Runs Through It with Robert Redford in 1992—he said the director’s style of asking actors for their ideas made him feel valued as a recent University of Montana graduate. Redford died on September 16th and his legacy will continue to shape the film industry. KXLH
- ➤ On Wednesday, the Capitol rotunda hosted Constitution Day as the Helena Express Singers performed patriotic songs—accompanied by speeches and a recitation of the U.S. Constitution's preamble. KXLH
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Helena Public Schools now has new vending machines at Capital and Helena High Schools that offer healthy meals such as sandwiches, gyros, salads, and parfaits. The machines cost nearly $17,000—serve 70 to 100 meals daily, and let students pay with their school IDs or cash. KTVH
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Helena began hosting its bi-annual latex paint exchange on September 17 and it will run until October 1 so residents with a permit can drop off and pick up paint during business hours at the transfer station. The effort helps prevent waste by ensuring proper paint disposal — reducing the need for new paint production. KXLH
