- ➤ Thursday was a special day for Helena’s Special Olympics athletes who gathered at Carroll College to sign a commitment to join the Helena Halos team for the 25 to 26 season—an event that united families and friends and set the stage for a basketball tournament in early November. KTVH

- ➤ The Last Chance Community Powwow returns for its 26th year at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds — it celebrates Native American culture, inclusion and the next generation and runs from Sept 26th through Sept 28th. Independent Record
- ➤ Hundreds of Helena-area students attended the 26th annual Last Chance Community Pow Wow demonstration day at the fairgrounds this weekend—tribes from nearby regions and Canada performed traditional dances and shared their indigenous customs while the event will run through Sunday with food, performances and vendors available. - ➤ On Thursday, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced that it awarded $12.7M in grants to help Montana veterans facing homelessness. The grants—totaling $12,755,445—will be provided to two organizations to support critical services for veterans. Independent Record

- ➤ Former NFL quarterback Drew Bledsoe visited Shodair Children's Hospital on Friday and donated $32,500 from funds raised in his name during the 2025 Ace Hardware Shootout—he met Luke Rivenberk, the hospital’s Champion Child who has been a patient for 13 years—and said the visit humbled him while he plans to continue his support.
