- ➤ Montana tribal members spent years honoring their history, and state lawmakers passed a law making the second Monday of October a statewide holiday called Indigenous Peoples Day & affirming Native contributions. Independent Record
- ➤ Helena property owners with sidewalks must clear snow and ice within 24 hours after it stops snowing (including shoveling ADA curb ramps and driveway aprons) to keep sidewalks safe. In commercial areas, snow must be removed by 9 a.m. the next business day or by noon on a non-business day, and for snowfalls over 2 inches parking is not allowed in emergency routes with fines up to $50 or 30% of the city's cost. - ➤ Montana recognized Indigenous Peoples’ Day officially for the first time after Senate Bill 224 passed, and Helena Public Schools rotated a tipi through campuses — Indian education specialists said the celebration helped both native and non-native students learn about shared values. KTVH
