Good morning, Helena.

Governor Greg Gianforte honored three Montana veterans at the state capitol today as part of his 56 County Tour to award the 2024 Montana Governor’s Veteran Commendation — Lieutenant Colonel Eric Rydbom, Sergeant Perry Brown, and Master Chief Todd Dunlap were recognized for their military service and community work. Nominations for the 2025 commendation remain open until October 20 and recipients will be named on Veterans Day.

The City of Helena said it will not collect private tree debris after this week's snowstorm damage—officials urged residents to refrain from cutting down storm-damaged city trees so that staff can focus on storm response priorities.
