EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Carroll College announced Dr. Michelle Heinan as the new Physician Assistant program director, effective November 1, when she will work remotely while traveling to Helena regularly. The college plans to submit its accreditation application in spring and begin the first cohort of 34 students in May 2028 — while it expands its team and builds local healthcare partnerships. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Helena police urban wildlife officers have wrapped up their two-week deer count to manage the city's deer population (a program started in 2008). The data will go to Fish, Wildlife, and Parks to set a winter trapping quota and plan a program to move deer to areas where hunting is allowed (to reduce conflicts between wildlife, people, and pets).
