- ➤ Local organizers are preparing a series of family-friendly Halloween events in Helena. Today, Helena High hosts free trick-or-treating and carnival games at its gym from 6-8 p.m.—on October 31, events include Little Tykes Trick of Treat downtown, Candy Jam at the Lewis and Clark County Fairgrounds, East Helena Fright Night at Main Street Park, and State Capitol Trick or Treat on the south side of the Capitol. - ➤ Downtown Helena is growing with help from the Helena Business Improvement District, which has supported about a dozen new businesses opening over the past year. The HBID offers grants and matching funds to boost local economic strength — for example, Ten Mile Creek Brewing hosted events and Aspen and Pines Pilates opened near the Great Northern Town Center. - ➤ CupBop submitted building plans for a suite at 2024 Cromwell Dixon Ln in the Skyway Regional Shopping Center—bringing its Korean bbq in a cup concept to Helena as it opens its first Montana location while Jersey Mike’s builds in the same building. KTVH

- ➤ Helena Public Schools is moving forward with plans to build a new high school after a $240 million bond passed last month, with architects A&E and SMA Architecture and Design starting designs next week—construction partners are expected to be chosen by year's end. The board also held its first public trustee interviews for a vacant seat after a resignation, and applications are due October 31—public input will continue at a Blueprints and Brews event on November 5 at 5:30 p.m. KXLH

- ➤ Therapy dogs from Intermountain Therapy Animals help Helena students learn and manage their feelings at schools like Warren and Smith Elementary.
