EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Helena school board picked Mosaic and Cushing Terrell to design the new Kessler Elementary. A Mosaic architect said the team is focused on creating beautiful, cost-conscious education spaces (a move that aims to support local students).  Independent Record
  • Helena Christian School broke ground on its future campus Friday when dozens gathered to mark the start of a smaller build that will serve as its new home by fall; the board said it will boost fundraising to lower an estimated debt of one and a half million dollars as it adds safe classroom space for more families.  KTVH

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Trooper Matthew Wilson of Montana Highway Patrol was named Law Enforcement Officer of the Year by the Helena Exchange Club—he received a $1,000 check with $500 for his agency and the rest for his chosen charity. Wilson, who has worked for the department for five years, said he feels fortunate to serve his local community.  KTVH

  • No. 14 Carroll College will host its first NAIA playoff game at home since 2014 against St. Thomas from Fla. today—Coach Troy Purcell said the team is healthy and ready after an 8-2 season.  KXLH
  • Peter Christian, 72, has been the voice of Montana Grizzlies football for 28 years + his recent illness made his absence stand out. Fans eagerly await his return as the Brawl Of The Wild game takes place today + his clear commentary remains a key part of the game day experience.  KXLH
