- ➤ Downtown Helena retailers urge shoppers to support local businesses this holiday season as free gift wrapping and curated selections help keep money in the community while small shops rely on local customers to thrive. KXLH
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The 38th Annual Festival of Trees is continuing at the Civic Center with family days on Saturday and Sunday and a Jingle Bell jam on Saturday night; decorated trees will be auctioned to support local programs for kids with emotional & behavioral needs. KTVH
- ➤ Sunday will mark the 84th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack that claimed 2,403 lives, including 15 from Montana. The Montana Military Museum features an exhibit (highlighting the resilient crew of the USS Helena) that honors Montanans’ World War II service. KTVH
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Carroll College anthrozoology horses (Lucas and Radar) helped boost student morale with a festive campus walk and caroling on Friday. The horses bring calm to stressed students during finals and show how animal help can ease mental tension. KTVH
- ➤ The Montana Historical Society is raising $10 million in private funds to support school trips to the Heritage Center — with $3.5 million already raised this fall, students will start visiting next spring. KTVH
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Montana Fish and Wildlife Commission extended the bison season by shifting its end from Feb. 15 to Feb. 28 while keeping the Nov. 15 start in district 385 near Gardiner — only license 385-21 stays unchanged as flexible quotas mean hunters must enter a drawing for coveted tags. KTVH
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Lewis and Clark Public Health is offering free arsenic and uranium testing for private wells in Helena through Dec. 31 (a $300 rebate is available for treatment systems when tests exceed safe limits), and nearly 30 homeowners have already reported unsafe results. KTVH

NeuroMotion is a fun, interactive brain-body class that uses 10 simple stations to engage physical movement and cognitive skills focusing on memory, attention, processing speed, and executive functioning. The session is designed for adults of all abilities, with both standing and seated options available and taught by Montana's only Certified Brain Health Trainer.
