- ➤ Queen City Wheelhouse refurbished donated bikes for kids and local groups plus partnered with the Christmas Giving Tree program at the Cathedral of St Helena to brighten the holidays. Shodair Children's Hospital picked up bikes today, adding to over 200 bikes donated this year. KTVH
- ➤ Helena will host its Longest Night observance for homelessness at Women's Park on Sunday, Dec. 21 — the event memorializes those lost this year. Independent Record

- ➤ Jorgenson's American Restaurant at 1714 11th Ave will open for breakfast on New Year's Day and serve dinner on January 3, with doors open daily from 7AM to 9PM. The owner of Copperline and Hardware Cafe plans to refresh the nearly 7000 sqft historic space founded over 60 years ago. KTVH
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Jewish communities across Montana lit eight menorahs in the Capitol Rotunda (yesterday) during a Hanukkah gathering that featured latkes, dreidels, and mini menorahs. Rabbi Chaim Bruk said the event stood as a united show of solidarity with those affected by antisemitism (a gesture of remembrance). KTVH
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Wednesday, Dec. 17, intense wind gusts over 80 mph struck Helena, leaving homes without power and causing roofs, walls and barns to sustain damage. Neighbors quickly helped secure fragile structures by parking trucks on damaged roofs (community support was strong in the storm’s wake). KXLH
