Good morning, Helena.

For six weeks, Helena Regional Airport TSA workers have served unpaid during the government shutdown while residents organized food donations and gift card drop-offs outside the terminal.

Airport director Jeff Wadekamper and local resident Connor McSweeney praised the workers’ dedication—reflecting true Montana values amid uncertain times.

Helena voters will soon decide on a $2.4M proposal that covers a tech levy and an operational levy to fund the school district's services.

School officials say the measure is needed to keep essential programs running.

Helena Public Schools agreed to explore repurposing closed Hawthorne Elementary as a community center with a tool library and art studio during a Tuesday work session; the board also noted that trustee races are uncontested and three levies will appear on May's ballot (raising property taxes modestly).

The Ordway Fire northeast of Craig burned 185 acres from a debris burn and is now 100% contained; crews will keep monitoring the area while residents are advised to follow road closures and evacuation warnings.
